What Moral Lesson Does Ichimaru’s Essay Convey To The Readers?

Michailo Ichimaru's essay is an eye-opener for those who boast of man's progress in science and technology. It shows us a horrible picture of nuclear war. It also warns us how one atom bomb can cause death and destruction on such a large-scale. The writer draws a very gloomy picture of death and misery when Allied forces dropped the first atom bomb on the Japanese city of Nagasaki. Every thing was burnt to ashes. Loss of life and property was unimaginable. Human pain and grief was unbearable.

The essay is deeply moral in its essence. The last two sentences clearly express the thesis of this essay. It is to awaken the conscience of this world against the use of atomic weapons.
