What Is The Purpose Of 'Narrator' On My Computer?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Narrator is for people who are blind or who have impaired vision. It is basically a text-to-speech facility, and can be accessed by clicking on 'Start', 'All Programs', 'Accessories', 'Accessibility' and then 'Narrator'.

Narrator allows the user to hear what is on their screen. They can have any text which they type read aloud, and Narrator also reads aloud any menus or content of an active window.

The volume, pitch and speed of the voice can be altered, and there are other elements of the feature which are customisable.

There is a whole load of information available in the Narrator window. To access more information about Narrator, click on 'Help' at the bottom of the Narrator window. The help section contains information on various topics in the 'Index' section and to view information on each topic click on 'Display' in the help window.
