Canines have been around man ever since the earliest days of human settlement. The animals are commonly associated with faithfulness and affection. They soon become part and parcel of the home that adopts them and are bred for their specific characteristics. Weaning a puppy involves the extensive planning on food items to be given to a particular puppy. In addition to planning the diet, the preparative steps such as the selection of a specific puppy box design or choosing the safe enclosure for the puppy needs to be addressed prior to weaning the puppy.

Weaning a puppy needs careful planning and should ideally be done in consultation with the vet. Though any weaned puppy instantly takes to and prefers canned food items, even the marketed dry food varieties can be introduced. These are made wet by the addition of water and the bowl full certainly attracts the weaned puppy. You should supplement the adopted weaned puppy food with enough vitamins and minerals. While adopting a puppy diet, you should consider the long term involvements. You need to consider if you can continue affording the marketed meal or you could adopt a flexible meal for the canine. This involves the intake of different ingredients on certain days. Getting the animal too used to a particular taste only could be difficult to handle in the absence of the availability of the 'puppy' or 'dog' food. Weaning should be adopted slowly.

Mini-14, it depends on the puppies age.

Crzymomof6, tigger's mom is right on.  Don't give in.  Hunger will win the day.  Just ask Caesar Milan.  You're the human, you're in charge.

Do not give in to what the puppy wants, you have to just leave the food out for the puppy, and hide the bottle and the milk from the puppy. HUNGER ALWAYS WINS with a puppy. At this age the puppy is more than ready for solids, be patient, make sure that there is plenty of water there also for it. Good luck.
