Gnocchi means 'lump' in Italian language. Gnocchi is basically available as a potato dumpling, but there are lots of other favorable varieties too. It is considered as an excellent dish, which can go to any length of delicacy while combined with sauces and produce a real lip-smacking variety in itself. It can be prepared very easily at home with the simple ingredients like potatoes, flours and salt. It may be enhanced by adding squash, cheese or even polenta as ingredients. The pre-made gnocchi if you would prefer to buy from supermarket instead of preparing it at home, you can also go for that. It can be bought dried, or fresh in vacuum sealed packages. The fresh ones are always preferred over the dried one.
