    No, not at all.

    You only have to think back to your own life experiences. Remember that girl who was the tallest in the class all the way through primary school? She towered over everyone all the way back to preschool, for that matter. She was 10 lbs at birth, too she told you.

    And then she stopped growing at age 12 and everyone shot past her. Now she's only an ordinary height.

    Or the little runt kid you used to pick for footie because you felt sorry for him as the smallest in the class? Remember how he grew 6 inches one summer and now he looks down on your bald spot?

    You really can't say, just by the size of a baby, whether they'll be big adults (in height or weight). Look at the parents' height and size, though, that's more predictive than size of baby today.

    There is some indication that plump babies are more likely to be plump adults, but it's only a tiny additional risk. If the plump baby grows up to be active and eat a balanced diet, they're really no more likely to be plump than anyone else.
