The former New York City mayor, Rudolph Giuliani, rejected a donation of US$10 million offered by Prince His Royal Highness (HRH) Al-Waleed bin Talal bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This donation was offered by the Saudi billionaire to the former mayor for relief work in the wake of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks that rocked New York, the financial capital of the United States. The Saudi prince suggested that the United States must re-evaluate its policies in the Middle East and take a more firm, but balanced stand towards the situation in Palestine. The 51-year-old Saudi billionaire is popularly known as Prince Al-Waleed. He was born on March 7, 1955, and is a member of the royal family of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. However, Prince Al-Waleed, the son of Prince Talal, is not the next-in-line to the throne. With an estimated net worth of US$ 20 billion, Prince Al-Waleed is the eighth richest man in the world, and has been dubbed the 'Arabian Warren Buffett' by Time magazine.
