As per the book, Ruth, Edek, Bronia and Jan leave Warsaw and they keep walking for two and a half days. After walking so much, they arrive at Posen and rest for a couple of days. After a few days they catch a train and leave for Berlin. After reaching Berlin, they walked towards Bitterfeld and Halle. They also cross the Thuringian Forest before leaving for Czechoslovakia. Finally, they reach Lake Constance. So this was the little journey of the four kids. This journey that had just been described is a fictional story from the book 'The Silver Sword' written by Ian Serrailler.
The book had been written during and after the Second World War and it is about four children who go through many problems during that time. The story takes places in countries like Poland, Switzerland and Germany and it is a very imaginative and a fantasy type story which was released in the year 1995.
