Prestwick Airport, laughably called Glasgow Prestwick Airport (Glasgow is fifty minutes away by train and is like calling East Midlands London's further airport), is a well laid out airport, on a small scale. It's catch line, is the rather ill and inarticulate local phrase 'Pure Dead Brilliant', which sounds like an uneducated delinquent commenting on the trainers he's just stolen from Allsport.
On the landside, there are a number of cash machines, a Travelex, a WHSmith bookshop, Peckham's selling alcohol, a restaurant with a great breakfast deal on the Full Scottish Breakfast! It also includes check-in and security; there are also a number of car hire facilities and an information point. There are a number of amusements, quiz machines, games and the like. Of course there is an executive suite and there is a trainline connecting the airport with Glasgow itself.
On the airside, there is very little, but there is a café, some amusements and a little WHSmiths for any last minute reads. Most recently, they have fitted out a brand new bar in the airport lounge, for those passengers needing a little dutch courage before the flight.
