At the moment, Pakistan is suffering from an utter shortage of houses pertaining to the growing rate of population. In the reflection of statistical estimates, about a shortfall of 500000 houses is experienced on an annual basis. Another factor that is behind this shortfall of houses is the elevating increase in prices of houses and lands, being a direct result of urbanization.

Even the rural areas are not spared where the inhabitants suffer as much as their urban counterparts. Specifically it is immensely difficult for the poor people, who constitute the masses, to afford a house of their own in either rural or urban areas. However a policy has been designed to promote housing and real estate development as it will establish a culture for the scope of increased investment in the housing sector. In the case of an economy of scales, it will provide aegis in reducing the costs of both lands and houses.
