    These are four different market categories in which sale promotion is used, these different categories also approach to sale promotion and are also provide support to sales promotion department.

    Industrial selling:
    In industrial field there are small of important customers. The person responsible for sales promotion should provide them adequate and descriptive literature giving full information about the product and the services, the supplier can provide.

    Selling to wholesalers:
    Those manufacturers who sell through wholesalers must start the program of sales promotion. In this field sales promotion and sales training are very close. The training should be given to the sales force of wholesaler. Sometimes factory salesmen may work with dealer by demonstrating their own product.

    Selling to retailers:
    In order to provide information about the product to retailers, various kinds of envelopes stuffer (to pack or fill completely) can be used; the catalogues should be sent to retailers. Price lists must be provided to the retailers. Sometimes, displays should be arranged at retailer's shops.

    Selling to consumers:
    This field belongs to the retail dealers, the mail order house, and house-to-house specialist. In this field the manufacturer helps in sales promotion in addition to all three.
