Who Played The Role Of The Defendant In The Film “A Time To Kill” By John Grisham?

The role of Carl Lee Hailey the defendant and the father of the victimized girl and the bringer of death to those that hurt her was played by veteran American Actor Samuel L Jackson. In the film he guns down the two white boys who are acquitted by the judge with only light sentences for having raped his daughter. He uses an M-16 to do the job right.

Samuel L Jackson played the part of the hardworking proud father who loves his children to perfection. His chemistry with Matthew McConaughey on screen was perfect. He even mimics the way a southern black with limited education would. Instead of "ask" he pronounces ask as "aks". Samuel L Jackson has appeared in a number of well known movies including Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown, Shaft, Star Wars and a host of other movies.
