    Is Atlantis A Legend Or Myth?

    Its for my English hw, and i was suppose to look up a legend and i thought Atlantis was one but now I'm not sure, and think it might be a myth

    I say both because legends are stories people pass down and myths are 9 times out of 10 fake.

      Whether or not Atlantis really existed, doesn't matter for your assignment. It is legendary in either case, because it's existence is controversial. There are ancient references to Atlantis, but its location has been a matter of speculation, and there doesn't seem to be any hard evidence to prove that it was real. At the same time, there are scientists who still search for evidence of its existence. There are many stories about the city of Atlantis, and most legends have a basis in reality. Legends are stories about happenings within the realm of possibility. Since the fact of Atlantis is within that realm, and there are those who haven't dismissed it as a myth, it should provide an interesting subject for your assignment.
