What Are The Symptoms Of Endometriosis?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The symptoms of endometriosis vary. By this I mean, there are a lot, and also it affects women in different ways. For some the symtpoms may be extreme and for others they may be non-existant but they still suffer from the disease.

    The main symptoms include;

    Severe period pain
    Back pain
    Leg pain
    Pelvic pain
    Pain during and after sex
    Heavy and/or irregular bleeding
    Bowel problems (constipation/diarrhoea/spasming)
    Nausea
    Fatigue
    Pain when urinating
    Some psychological problems
    Bleeding from the rectum
    Infertility

Some of these symptoms may only occur before and during the period, but for others it may be a constant battle.

The extent of pain the person is in may not directly correspond with the severity of the growths. Some women will have very small patches - perhaps only one spot - and be in severe pain. Others may have a large amount of endometriosis but endure very little discomfort.

This is one of the many mysteries of the disease and a reason which makes endometriosis hard to diagnose.
