How Do You Figure Square Yards?

Answer Question

2 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

Square yards are worked out similarly to square feet except it is figured out in yardage. It will be easier to find the dimensions( using a measuring tape) if the room is more of a square or rectangular shape. Plot out the dimensions on a sheet of paper as this will help you to calculate the square yards.
Every 3 feet will equal 1 yard. You will have a 3x3 foot area that will equal a square yard.
If you already know the square footage, in order to find the square yard, divide the footage by 9.
