Canadian residents do require visa for other countries. Some countries do not require visa from Canadian citizens. It depends upon their foreign policy. You have to check with every country policy.

A permanent resident of Canada does require a visa to visit other countries. As of Jan. 2008 you will require a passport if you wish to enter the U.S. And Mexico and return into Canada whether by land or by air. Also, as a permanent resident of Canada you are not a Canadian citizen and you require a special application/visa from the Canadian government if you wish to leave and return to Canada. You should also get a passport from the country of which you are a citizen if you have not yet done so.
