    Which Sentence Is Grammatically Correct? 1. I Thought It Would Be Best If I Were To Rise The Curtain. 2. The Men Came Today To Lay The Carpet In The Bedroom.

    Want to know which is correct, so I don't look so stupid when my sister asks me to help with homework lol.

    2 is correct. 1 has just one mistake: It says "to rise the curtain" when it should be "raise." Just in case your sister asks!

      #2, if you pay attention to how it reads, in #1 it should say raise instead of rise.
