How Many Games Did Alan Hansen Play For Liverpool FC?

Alan Hansen joined Liverpool in nineteen seventy seven after signing for the reds from Scottish side Partick Thistle.

In total Hansen played four hundred and thirty four tomes for the reds in an Anfield career that spanned thirteen years before injury forced his retirment in nineteen ninety.

Hansen also appeared on twenty six occasions for the Scottish natiionl side. This is considered by many to be a travesty, that a player of Hansens undoubted quality only managed so few appearances for his country.

Some pundits closer to the game claim that Hansens strong affinity with Liverpool led several Scotland managers to believe Hansen sacrificed his place in Scotland squads in preference for retaining his fitness for his club side.

After hanging his boots up in nineteen ninety, Hansen went on to work in the media, and aswell as writing for one of Britians leading broadsheets, he is also a regular on the world famous Match of the Day.
