What's Medusa Like?

Medusa was supposed to be one of the three ancient gorgons who were said to have been so horrible to behold that the onlooker turned into stone at the first sight. Medusa was said to have had snakes for her tresses and the lower portion of her body was serpentine which was supposed to have been a punishment to her from Athena. She was said to have been slain by the hero Perseus in a battle who used a shield to look at her reflection and then behead her.
