How Do I Cope With Failure?

Answer Question

2 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

Failure is a part of the process of success.  Failure has to occur so that success can happen.  Often it feels like one is failing more often than one is succeeding.  However, this is also part of the process, anything worth achieving is worth achieving at effort.  Anything won easily will be given the value of an easy thing.

Graft will win through.  Failure to achieve a desired result is difficult and you may feel bitter and blame  yourself or others.  Even if your actions have lead you to the failure, there is no point at all in blaming yourself.  Blaming others is almost as fruitless, you will feel the need to blame someone, but blame is an entirely useless emotion.  Epictetus (the Greek Stoical philosopher) believed that with moral progress, it was likely that
people would see the futility in blame.  Little did he know that we would be living in a blame culture thousands of years later.

Your failure is often not within your control.  If you failed to win the girl, score the goal, get the job, there are so  many factors prevailing against you that it is unlikely that you will have much control over the outcome.  Instead, you should celebrate your successes (something that Brits don't do particularly well).  However remember, your success is usually someone else's failure, whether that be the girl, the goal or the job.  So celebrate respectfully.  Failure eventually is a wonderful teacher, it helps us learn modesty and humility.  Eventually, failure moves aside for success. Your patience is the virtue.

Failure is the other side of success.
When failed, we are gripped in an emotional flow which makes us feel worthless, lose our confidence and  life seems derogatory.
But, we should always view and analyse the reasons or shortcomings which led to the failure and reinforce us with positivity to lunge forward towards our goal.
"A winner makes Failure a steeping stone to success rather than a stumbling block".
      Reassess the situation.
You would be most satisfied when u know that u had put the best foot forward and unforeseen circumstances brought about ur failure. In this case, there would be no regrets. Just motivate yourself to give it another shot with the same vigour.
In case where you knew there was something lacking in you, u would be best able to understand the reason which led to ur failure. Compliment yourself that u came so far, "That person is a bigger loser who dose not indulge himself for the fear of losing".
Failure is tough, but it is a great learning experience.
Motivate yourself because u know u can make it.
Give it another shot, u r more experienced now.
The pleasure of success will be incomplete if u have not experienced failure.
