Sounds really nice!!
You could stay in the yellow family, using a much lighter shade of the couch's yellow for the walls......I am always in favor of 'light' over dark, so using the lighter wall colors would be much more appealing to live with than a darker color on the walls...
But you have to ask yourself one thing: Are you going to keep the buttercream leather couch forever and ever? If you are not, then the lighter yellow should still go well with other furniture, as long as it's in the 'warm' tones.........lots to think about!!!!!!

And don't forget to take care of the leather couch!!! Good old Murphy's Oil Soap can be used on leather, as well as saddle soap.........!!!
