What Was The Reception That The Former Chief Justice Of The Supreme Court Of Pakistan Received On His Recent Visit To Lahore?

Justice Iftikhar Chaudhary, who was the former Chief Justice of the Pakistan Supreme Court recently visited Lahore where he got an extremely warm welcome from the public of Lahore at his arrival. The present judicial crisis that has taken Pakistan by storm was the result of President Musharraf's vendetta against the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court who was made to resign under reasons that were termed as 'valid' and 'legitimate' by General Pervez Musharraf. However the proclivity of the public support seems to be in the direction of the suspended Chief Justice instead of the Head of the State. Despite of being suspended, the former Supreme Court Chief Justice was warmly received in Lahore by all the people including lawyers as well as the general public. As a matter of fact, his popularity increased tremendously after his suspension while the protests against the president increased in their intensity chanting slogans of 'Go Musharraf Go'.
