    The Akashi - Kaikyo Bridge which is located in Japan and is also known as 'Pearl Bridge' this bridge is the largest suspension bridge in the world. The bridge is measured by the length of its centre span which is around 1,991 meters, the Akashi – Kaikyo Bridge was planned to be one of the three connecting bridges of 'Honshu – Shikoku, annexing the two borders of the Inland Sea.

    The bridge is a six lane Broadway, it crosses the Akashi Strait. The bridge to date has been maintained by the 'Honshu – Shikoku Bridge Authority'. It is said the Akashi – Kaikyo Bridge can expand up to two meters in one day. The toll that is set by the authorities to cross the bridge is around, 2,300 YEN which comes around to something like 20 US Dollars.
