Can I File For Unemployment While Still Working Part Time, Or Must I Wait Until I'm Totally Unemployed?

I found out that the business i work for is going out of business, and will be closing january 4th. Hours have been cut to 16 hours per week, and i will be unemployed after january 4th.

You must be unemployed in order to get the benefits. You are still working. You should wait until you become unemployed and then file the case afterwards.

you can actually collect unemployment if your hours are cut. Unemployment insurance is for people who are able and willing to work full time. So if you company cuts your hours than you will be eligible for unemployment.
