Windows Vista Business 6.0 Could Not Detect A Dial-up Modem, What To Do?

I have a Sony VAIO VGN-TZ130N/B notebook with Windows Vista Business 6.0 and it will not let me set up a dial-up connections. The internal modem driver is correct because the Windows Fax and Scan works when dialing up. But when I just try to set up a dial-up connection to my ISP the message I get is "Windows could not detect a dial-up modem".

Well most of old hardware are not detected by Vista as it has many updates. You need to install modem drivers that support Vista. For that you go to website of Vista and download modem drivers with its support of your desired manufacturer and model no.

fixed this issue on my VAIO.
First you need to go to event manager and make sure that RASMAN is failing to initialize.

Then you need to go to regedit

    Search on Cingular

And remove the 2 keys that point to a .DLL that are associated with Cingular eapttls.ddl

    That fixed it for me.
