I Am Fed Up With Getting So Much Junk Mail Every Day. Is There Any Way I Can Stop It From Being Delivered?

Junk mail can be a real pain at times, especially when you are expecting something important and all that pops through the post is junk! Luckily there is a way in which you can stop it from being delivered, though it is not something that companies let you know about!

The main thing you can do is to sign up with companies and opt out of receiving any junk mail. Royal Mail allows you to register with them and opt out of door-to-door unaddressed mail. However, this service does not include mail which is addressed to 'the occupier'. You can also tick the 'edited register' section of your next annual electoral form, and that will automatically stop marketing companies from buying your details.

There are always boxes on forms which state 'if you would like to be kept informed by third party companies please tick this box.' If you do not tick the box, third party companies cannot send you junk mail so always be aware of what you are signing and ticking!

Why not do what I did? I got a cardboard box and made just a slit in the top with an arrow pointing to it and a note saying please put your junk mail in here. Then i left it outside my door all the junk mail was put in it which made me laugh and I didnt have to keep picking it up off of the floor : just recycle it. Good luck
