I Have An Over Production Of Music For 2 Months Now I Have Tried Over The Counter Treatments And Nothing Has Worked. I Do Not Feel Sick, Just Have The Mucus And Cough And Inflamed Tuburnates. Is This An Infection?

I have had a bad cough and over production of mucus. I cough it up. I do not feel sick, no fever no headaches. I ido have some chest congestion and inflamed tubernates in my nose. I am taking mucinex and alavert for 1.5 months with some relief but I am concerned this may be an infection. Maybe infected tonsils.
