Well first of all how long ago was the surgery done?  I had my L5 S1 diskectomy done with spinal fusion and bone graft from my left hip and buttocks.  I have also 2 stainless steal rods and 4 screws put in.  The pain for me after the surgery last about 4 to 6 months. The overall pain subsided after for about 2 1/2 years to a level of 3.  When I reinjured my back at work it loosened 2 screws but not enough to have surgery done which would cause more scar tissues and pain.  But some people do bounced back with no problems after the initial surgery but a lot of people that I know still suffer to some extent afterwards.  Now I am about 35% disable because of the second injury but before I did that I handled my pain level with meditation and meds and exercising and strengthing my lower back muscles which would help with back pain.

My surgery was done may 6 2008 the pian is still high level 8/9 whats the deal. Don't know how long I can deal with it. This was supposed to help, not make me suffer more. On febuary 9, 2007 i had another fusion and screws and plates put in my neck that is still a high level of pain 7/9 level, of course that was to help to. Semi accidents suck!!!!

I do not what to tell you. Did you talk to your Dr. About this? Maybe you should ask your Dr. About having your nerve roots burned. It is called Radio Frequency lesionings. I just wish that I could help you out. I know that after my surgery it took about 4 to 6 months to get better. It was not complete pain free but it did help some. I just wish that I could help you more. I have had chronic pain now for 11 1/2 years with today technology you should get some relief.
