I don't know the exact mortality rate for cardiogenic shock. It is dependent on many factors, including the health of other organs and the possibility of other factors which can cause shock. "Shock" means systemic hypotension. "Cardiogenic" means caused by the inability of the heart to pump hard enough to maintain sufficient blood pressure.

Treatment would include medicines to improve the cardiac output, like digitalis and medicines to raise the blood pressure directly, like dopamine. If there are associated arrhythmias, they are also treated. In the case of a heart attack, arrhythmias are treated even before they occur. In my experience, the prognosis is poor.
