I've Heard That Margarine Is Only One Molecule Away From Being Plastic. Doesn't That Make It Really Bad To Eat?

Well, if you work hard at it, ANYTHING is only one molecule away from being plastic. You'd just have to spend a lot of time in a lab coming up with the right polymers. Moreover, most margarines contain a lot of ingredients that aren't usually found in plastics (like, er. butter, salt, and vegetable fats).

Even if it were true that margerine were only a simple molecule away from being plastic (and that's NOT the case), that wouldn't be meaningful in itself. Biochemistry doesn't work like that.

What matters is not exactly what goes into a product, but how the chemical bonds are arranged. An awful lot of things are only "one molecule" or even "one atom" away from being something else that's really harmful.

Water: is only one atom away from being hydrogen peroxide (bleach, toxic).

Flavonoids: are composed of 2 benzene rings joined by a chain of carbon atoms. Flavonoids are enormously beneficial in the human diet, benzenes are carcinogenic.

Oxygen. The chemical formula is O2, only one atom away from O3, which makes ozone. Ozone is a poisonous gas.

Margarine is considerably healthier for many people than butter is. Butter may still be eaten in smaller amounts, but since it is practically pure fat margarine it may be supplimented to ease off on potential problems.

Water is one molecule from being Hydrogen Peroxide, but I'm not going to stop drinking water.

Keep in mind there are different kinds of margarine. Not all are as heart-bad as butter.

As  I Was Going Through a List Of What Was /Is Dangerous  to Give My Dog (He's A Boxer) And Will Eat Virtually Anything He Can Get His Choppers On,It Made Me Concern Today,(03April09). Besides The Foods I Was Reading About Like Chocolate,?I Was Concern About The Additives Like Butter/Margarine. I Hadn't Eaten Margarine In A Good While Until My Wife Started To Use That Cracker Barrel or Other Name Stuff When She Cooks. Now After Reading These Studies and Reports It's Has-ta La Vesta  Margarine!!! Even If My Wife Won't Stop Using It ! I'm Going To Stress To Her Not To Use It Anymore, Maybe Using Butter?? Or Better Yet Corn Or Olive  Oil!. It's Bad Enough I Breath In Steal Dust From Work!, >;( Over 24yrs. It's True About All These BIG BOX Pharmacies POPPING UP All Over S.I.
