The trend of globalization has brought with itself many blessings and curses and also other elements that could be classified in both the categories. Globalization, in itself, is an ambivalent factor that has its benefits and drawbacks at the same time. Nevetheless the trends of industrialization and investment are two trends that have been what one would generally call the 'blessings of globalization'. However at some instances, these trends do seem to take up the role of curses, which is perilous. As for the role of corruption in industrialization and investment with regard to Asian countries, it is the most dangerous menace in Asia as its harmful impact is one of the few major factors that encumber the inflow of foreign investment. In that regard Singapore and Hong Kong are prime examples, who have a corruption rate of 0.89 and 1.22 respectively and because of this extremely low rate companies are willing to invest there, the gist of which could also be attributed to the stability of the political and economic situation. On the other hand, countries like Indonesia are still not a favourable spot for potential investors, although things are improving over here but it will take Indonesia some time to reach the level of Singapore and Hong Kong.
