    Food calorie counters are the best resource to help us keeping fit. For our healthy growth, we need to consume food, beverage, vitamin, minerals, etc. to supplement our body's energy need. Consuming less of these items causes malnutrition and over consumption causes wastage of resources besides causing us to be obese. A balanced diet is necessary commensurate to our energy needs.

    As different eatables provide different amount of calories, we need to have a check on what we are taking in. If we can come to know calorie value vis-à-vis the food products, we can easily control our daily eating habits and thereby helping us to keep fit. Food calorie counters have been designed keeping in mind of our above needs. From these calorie counters we can calculate how much bread or bear will be sufficient for our healthy surviving.

    They only tells us that 100 grams of egg is to be consumed for obtaining 150 calories of energy and the same quantity of potatoes provide only 87 calories of energy. Thus, the calorie counters help us to conclude that to sustain 150 calories of energy, either we are to consume 100 grams of egg or 170 grams of potatoes, etc.
