John Reginald Halliday Christie was born on the 8th of April in the year 1898 at Halifax in the West Riding of Yorkshire. He was basically an English serial killer who was active in the 1940s and 1950s. As a child John was abused by his father and was completely dominated by his mother and sisters. When he left school he became an assistant cinema projector. By the time he became a man he had already been associated with death and violence. He got married on the 10th of May in the year 1920 to Ethel Simpson. The couple got separated after four years.
His murders started in the year 1943 when he first killed a mistress by the name of Ruth Fuerst. He later on killed a colleague at office named Muriel Eady. He buried both the bodies in the garden of the building. On the 8th of November in 1949, in attempt to do an abortion of his neighbor's wife he raped and killed her and later on told her husband Timothy Evans that his wife had died during the procedure and both hid the body as abortion was illegal. Evans confessed and was convicted. Christie then murdered his wife and sold most of the things at home. Later that year he killed 3 more prostitutes. Bodies were found from his apartment and he was arrested on March 25, 1953. He was hanged at 9 am on July 15, 1953.
