How Does Matrix Management Work?

Matrix Management is a form of organizational management where people with similar skills are pooled together for work assignments. For instance, all IT experts may be present in one IT department and report to IT manager, but these IT employees may be assigned to different assignments and may report to separate project managers.

In this way the employees may report to more than one managers. It is also called a two boss organizational structure.
