Who Holds The Record For The Largest Ever Lottery Win?

The largest ever lottery win (to date) was £77 million won by Irish woman Dolores McNamara in 2005. She bought a single ticket to the lottery and was the only winner.
Since the win, she has bought a 6 bedroom mansion in Ireland and a new BMW car, but still finds it hard to come to terms with her new wealth. The press attention at the time of the win was excessive and she has since received thousands of begging letters from people asking for some of the money.
Many of them are just addressed with her name and Ireland. She is so famous because of her win, that the Irish post office has not trouble working out where to deliver it.
Worse, many people have made kidnap threats against her family and her grown up children have had to take up wearing alarms and being vigilant against attack. At one point the family had to go into hiding. As the old saying goes, money doesn't always bring happiness.
