Passport photographs can be obtained from a photography studio. These establishments are run by capable and trained staff and are generally aware of the requirements of size and other specifications. You can use a digital camera yourself to click your own passport photographs and have them printed by a professional later.
The size of the photograph in the United Kingdom should be three and a half by four and a half centimetres. This is the standard in most of Europe and the rest of the world. In the United States however the size recommended is two inches by two inches. The background to the photograph must necessarily be white and the person's entire face should be visible; from the top of the head to the shoulders. Sunglasses, hats and mufflers are a strict no-no.
