It is just possible that it was about the same because a lot of mothers took blame of the pregnancy and claimed the baby as their own when all the time it was really there grand child,I feel that was a time when a lot of people lived by what others thought of them and or their family. As time went on the abortion came into play so we have more births that were not allowed to happen...good luck
