Fort Lee is located in the Tri-cities area in the state of Virginia in the United States. The place is of military significance and has been named after the confederate general Robert E Lee from the American Civil War. There are various military centers, schools and museums located within the area. The area is controlled and was created by the United States army. It was set up in 1917 as a training and mobilization point for American soldiers being sent to fight in the First World War.

After the war ended the site was made part of a game preserve but was rebuilt as a military installation when the Second World War broke out.
The Combined Arms Support Command of the US arm is located here. The museums found here include the Army Women's Museum and the Army Quartermaster Museum.
