    The River Lune and Lancaster Canal run through Lancaster. It is a city in Lancashire and is situated north-west of England. It is a hub for commercial, cultural and educational centers.

    The Lancaster castle constructed in the thirteenth century and expanded on the orders of Elizabeth I, till date stands on the site of Roman garrison. Lancaster castle is best known as the place where the infamous Pendle Witches trial was held in 1612. It is said that the court loacted in castle gave hanging orders to more people than any other court in the world, getting lancaster the nickname "Hanging Town".

    Lancaster over the period of years has grown as a modern town till recently, Reeboks European headquaters were located in Lancaster. Lancaster University, known as one of the top research universities is situated this city.
