How Does A Microwave Make A Carbon Footprint?:

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Microwave=electricity use=coal burned to produce generate electricity...... Or if we go further we could say a hydro dam is needed to produce electric which gas is used to build and maintain the dam..so if we get really technical and picky everything leaves a carbon footprint on what scale is determined by what the world determines is a allowable footprint for certain necessary products or production facilities...even if we had solar panels for electric production to power your home/microwave we have to produce the solar panels and the solar panels use other elements that take or use carbon to make/produce...leaving a carbon footprint...oh! One more the microwave is produced by a plant/factory that burns electric/runs on electric to build the microwave and ship it to the store where you buy it.so just by the microwave being built and shipped and bought by you it has already burned world resources making a footprint of it's own...
