Whenever I suspect I've been bitten by an insect that isn't dangerously venomous, especially a spider, I use a cortisone based cream, or Benedryl cream.  I've also heard that if you make a paste out of (unseasoned) meat tenderizer and water, it reduces the itching and sting.
Of course, if the bite begins to look suspicious (infection or spreading), it's always best to let a doctor look at it to make sure the insect wasn't poisonous, or you don't have an allergy to the venom.Hope that helped!

It depends on the bite and the spider.  If it hurts I would definitely get checked out, or if it swells.  Call your local doctor or hospital and ask if you know what kind of spider bit you. They can tell you usually if you need to be seen.  I would treat the symptoms.  Tylenol for the pain or ibprofin/motrin.  Benadryl if there is an allergic reaction.  Ice if it swells.  If it is bothersome or you are too worried get checked out or at least call the hospital or doctor.  You can never be too safe.

I'm a Cowboy and this really works!
Put, with tape, wet tobacco on it!
      It draws out the poison!
