Why Don't My Computer Read My New Hard Drive Disk?

Windows xp say it can't read new hard drive.

    Possibly you don't have the service pack 2 installed on your computer Or the sata controller is disabled. Try downloading the SP2 for free from the Microsoft official site . If there is still problem go to motherboards setup (by pressing del in the boot up screen) and enable the controllers . I think you are not going to have any more problem !

      There must be some problem with the hard disk. Check the data cable, is it faulty? Have you inserted the data cable in the right direction on the motherboard.

      Go to the system setup and check that did your computer detected the hard drive or not. If not then there is problem with the cable or hard disk is faulty. There are some old systems which do not recognize new hard disks of greater storage too.
