    Louis Dearborn LaMoore is the full name of Louis L'Amour. He was born on 22nd March 1908 at Jamestown, North Dakota. He was the youngest of the seven children from the La Moore family. His father, Louis Charles LaMoore was a good gentleman who enjoyed sports and he was also a veterinarian. L'Amour's mother was teacher until she got married. L'Amour laid vested interests in westerns because during his child stories about French-Irish forefathers of his family, western frontiersmen and women from America. His grandfather was in army, he fought in the Civil War

    The whole family of L'Amour shifted to Oklahoma in 1923. He left school when he was at the age of 15. He wanted to earn and he also travel. He wandered a lot to get jobs and experiences. He referred this part of his life as "yondering" years. He worked in circus as elephant handler. He also worked as lumberjack, a miner, etc. During World War II he also worked as lieutenant of Europe. Some of the books written by him were as Conagher, Crossfire Trail, The Sackettes, etc. Many of the books were also made them into movies.
