Someone Steals From My ATM They Confess They Say They Will Repay They Don't, What Is My Next Step?

File a police report, have the person arrested for the crime, and allow the courts to order his repayment and otherwise decide his punishment.

As amore says ,it is a police matter. However, if for some reason you don't want the police involved, then perhaps the very threat of it may be enough to get them to pay up. I am working on the assumption it could be a family member or a former close friend. If however they refuse i would inform the police because if you don't, they may be tempted to do it again.

You are absolutely correct. I have been fighting this answer within myself for sometime now. This is the best answer. I have threatened the Police.
This individual apparently feels they are above the law. I am not the first and I am sure if i do not do something I will not be the last.
It sickens me that I am the one who has to do this. But, if someone else had done this this would have never happened to myself. I hate this. I guess in a sense I just needed some moral support. Thank you.
