Because they love you and want to help you get on a good path that will eventually make you happy even if you can't see it right now. I had a VERY strict father and I didn't get it either. I thought he just wanted control over me. When I got older I saw things differently. He was just trying to be a good father. And looking back now I realize he was. (most of the time.)

Parents only want what is best for you....They were kids once too..... They made stupid choices and mistakes and dont want you to go through that..... Be happy you have parents that care and love you... Most kids today have absent parents, parents on drugs, single parents, unknown fathers........Just be good, stay in school, get good grades and soon you will be 18 and can make your own choices in life and guarantee you will be calling your parents for help....
