My Wife Has Cancer In Her Lymphnodes. What Are Her Chances?

Answer Question

The lymph nodes are the battlegrounds where immune cells take on abnormal cells including cancer cells. 'Cancer' in some lymph nodes means the battle has been lost in those particular lymph nodes but does not necessarily mean the cancer cells have won the war. Your wife's doctor will have a better idea of which stage your wife's disease is at but whichever course of action should, in my opinion, be taken after discussion by all parties. Don't be railroaded into anything, and bear in mind immune cells as well as cancer cells are killed by chemotherapy. My best wishes to you and your wife.

Cancer in the lymph nodes is referred to as Lymphoma. There are basically 2 types hodgkins and non hodgkins. Prognosis depends on the cell type and stage. I am an 8 year survivor of lymphoma, (non hodgkins). Your wife should be seeing an oncologist who will test for the specific type and treat accordingly. I wish you both good luck  and advise that a positive attitude helps tremendously.
