What Is Chelation Therapy?

    Chelation Therapy is a complex modern technique used to treat heavy metal toxicity by binding heavy metals in the body through intravenous treatment. The most common form of Chelation Therapy is ETDA Chelation Therapy used to treat patient suffering from lead poisoning. The interesting thing is that the patients undergo this therapy claim to have health improvement not directly associated with the expected result of the therapy. For example, patient suffering from intermittent claudication and angina, may have reported less fatigue and pain in post-therapy phase. The therapy is found to be beneficial for patients suffering from angina, arthritis, multiple sclerosis, gangrene, Parkinson's disease, psoriasis, Alzheimer's disease, etc. In most of the cases, patients have emphasized in having significant health improvement in various areas such as sight, hearing, smell, coordination as well as sexual potency.

    The side-effects of this therapy are not very common. But in some cases it may have mild to severe reaction. Mild effects may include nausea, headache, skin rashes, confusion, vertigo, fever and in the severe cases, it may include complications like anaemia, decreased clotting ability, kidney problem, bone marrow damage, hypocalcemia, etc.
