    The Capital of Kazakhstan is Astana. The name of this country is also spelt out as Kazakstan and Khazakstan. Kazakhstan shares its land border with Russia, the People's Republic of China, and the Central Asian countries of Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Turmenistan, and also has shoreline towards the Caspian Sea.

    Before attaining complete independence, Kazakhstan was known as SSR republic in the Soviet Union. Currently it is a member of the Commonwealth of Independent States. Kazakhstan is said to be the ninth-biggest country in terms of area.

    According to the census conducted in the year 1999 the total population of this region was 14,953,100, having a population density of 14 per square mile. The census report of 1999 also stated that the total area of this region was 1,052,085 square miles.
