Since winter has set in and December is around the corner the weather of Europe in general is cold. There are differences as to how cold, for in some parts this translates to a pleasant climate, as is the case in parts of those countries bordering the Mediterranean, in others such as Scandinavia and north eastern Europe it would mean snowfall and blizzards and sub zero temperatures.

Starting from the north in parts of Finland and Russia average temperatures are around 2°C it is cloudy and there is snowfall. In the Russian city of Volgograd it is -6° C. Berlin and Oslo are warmer at 8° and 9° respectively, and it is sunny in Berlin. It's raining in London yet and temperatures are averaging 13° C. It is interesting to note that temperatures in England are generally higher than in countries at a similar distance north from the equator and this is due to the warm currents of the Gulf Stream.

While Madrid is comparatively cooler at 8° C, Corsica and Lisbon are nice and sunny with average temperatures of 18° and 17° C respectively.
