If it is an oil based paint, there isn't much you can do with it. You can try cutting the oil paint with 0000 steel wool rubbed in linseed oil but you may have to resort to sanding the stain out. Latex paint is a different story. Pour on water as hot as you can stand and wipe the stain off. A little detergent added to the hot water helps. Keep pouring on hot water and wiping off until the paint is gone. If the paint stain is an old one, scrape as much as you can off first and then apply the soapy hot water. The hotter the water is the softer the latex paint gets. GOOD LUCK
