What Are The Day To Day Duties Involved For A Firefighter?

A firefighter is supposed to save lives of people and put them away from danger. They can have a very hectic daily schedule which includes first of all an initial response to incidents, which starts off after an alarm ring.

They are supposed to identify the type of alarm that is ringing and respond to it accordingly. He then winds up with all team members and prepares for the equipments that will be required. It is also required for him to communicate with the people who are in danger and ask them continuously the situation of the emergency.

The firefighter might have to then drive the firefighting truck to the scene of the incident and make sure all traffic rules are being followed. He will select a route which will be the closest to the scene of the incident.

At the scene of the incident he will make sure all personnel and equipments are in there place and looks at the condition of the incident. After making quick decisions, the supervisor will guide the team members and assign their duties separately. This requires good coordination and team spirit.

Then he will start putting out the fire and if any one is stuck inside a building he will risk his life and help them come out. They might even have to climb heights to reach a certain window to save people.
